My first day at work, meaning my second week living in California, I had no idea what to eat for lunch. Honestly, my nerves would have let me starved but fortunately my amazing co-workers had encouraged me to try one of their all time favorite lunch spots; Spitz- Home of the Doner Kebab.
This particular day I drove to the Spitz in Little Tokyo with my co-worker Rachel. We talked about how much she dislikes driving in Los Angeles, her experience working at BeCore, her family and how much she loves Spitz. We finally arrived at Spitz, I was taken back by all of the cool decor and artwork. But quite frankly, most of my attention went towards trying to decide what I wanted to order. I got the Doner Basket topped with chicken. Pure deliciousness! Basically the Donor Basket is salad and fries topped with tzatziki, chili, feta, onion, green pepper, cucumber, tomato, olives, pepperoncinis, crispy garbanzo, falafel ball, fried pita and hummus.
My first experience was great, so of course I had to go back…three more times. My next visit was with Jen. Once again I got the Doner Chicken Basket, this time I got a side of Strongbow Gold Apple Hard Cider. It’s great.
For my third visit I went to the Spitz location in Studio City. This location is more airy, smaller and great for a one on one setting. Both locations have games that make for a good time.
You’ve got to try it for yourself! Here are the details on the locations that I’ve visited:
